Six Pack Stud-a-Thon Sept 23-30th

Welcome to my stop on the Six Pack Stud-a-Thon

By looking at my covers (points at sidebars) you'd think I have a thing for chests. I don't design those. Chests are my Lyrical Press artist's fetish. LOL

Update 9/23/13:  I just got some cover love for No Refuge. Do you think the artist read this blog post? LMAO

I, on the other hand, have a thing for backs and shoulders.

A man will catch my eye if his shoulders are broad and his back tappers to a narrow waist. That Bermuda Triangle of body type is my weakness.

When I hug a man, I don't want to be able to clasp my hands behind him. I'm a strong woman and don't want to crush anyone. I want to be the one being crushed. Fingertip touching is passable. :D

Hate to say it, but I do sometimes judge a book by its cover. I am more likely to buy a book that has a picture of real (or real-looking...ya can never tell with these computer graphics nowadays) people on it as opposed to a cartoon or no people at all.

Oh an it never huts to have the guy shirtless ;)

Half naked men book covers ;)
I am not a fan of those 50 Shades cover knock offs with objects on the cover. I like a real person on it.

definitely one with hot 1/2 naked man or a man and a woman in an intimate position

I remember when all the covers were clinches. The first guy alone on the cover I remember was Laura Kinsale's Prince of Midnight, which was arresting at the time. Now everyone has the naked torso.

I like ones where the guy has a face. The back pose is interesting though.

I like an unusual image and beautiful font design, or a guy with something uniquely sexy about him! And NO headless torso shots (of either sex), ever!

Covers that match the title. I like clear, bold, pictures. Hot men on the cover are nice, if it is a hot story. I like covers that give me a little glimpse inside the book or suggest what the book is about.

I like a hunky man, but also darker covers and I want the cover to fit the story/character. No blondes when it should be a redhead etc.

I like the ones with real life or realistic looking good art work. Yes seeing the skin is great as long as they are on with story line set in the pose. Thank You for the chance to win.

I don't always need cover models on a book, but if there are I like great beauty in a woman or a man.

Usually its the book title that catches my eye but I like covers that shows where the setting is, what it's about and the characters are a dead ringer. But I don't like it when the charcaters are looking at the camera.

I like to be able to see the eyes. They say so much! I've noticed lately that I seem to like tattoos also.

I like subtle covers - those that give you a hint of what could be inside, so that you'll want to read the book and confirm your guess.

It depends on the mood at the time when looking for a book sometimes (if I'm really grumpy I like dark colors and grumpy people or more rough covers, if happy bright covers with happy people etc.). I realized that I do that and got a good laugh at myself at the bookstore, which I think I shopped at (shelf browsed at anyway) long enough to go through a number of moods!

Ok, all that babble aside, for a first glimpse type cover that would initially catch the eye, I think I like covers in the category of romance types, that are on the sweet side rather than too into the actions of what lies in the books (hopefully). I like to sort of start out all sweet and cute and be lead totally astray but the inner workings of the authors mind in the book.

I hope all of that made just a bit of sense. As soon as I started typing, my mother called, the mail person came a knocking at the door, and I got side tracked by the smell of coffee in the kitchen!

I hope everyone has a very nice day and weekend and reads something good soon!

The kinds of covers that attract my attention are ones with an attractive couple in a sexy pose.

I like my covers that have both the hero and heroine, and the more colorful it is the better.

While some authors have earned their place on my bookshelf regardless of cover art, I admit to being pulled toward most of my books based on the covers. I like my eye candy, and I'm not ashamed to admit it! Give me a great cover model (clothing optional) and a sensuous pose, and the book is in my hands!

Gorgeous guy on the cover, also very colorful covers catch my eye.

Sexy looking covers. I don't like the ones with just objects on them.

Unknown said...

My eye always goes to the books with the most male skin on the cover. No females need apply.

Stormy Vixen said...

The ones with alpha smexy hunks with very little clothes, that way I can imagine them very well in whatever scene in the book I am reading. Of course sense I'm pretending the heroine is me that makes sense right?
